Managing Director | M&A + investment banking
Scott Weavil
Scott founded Sierra Pacific Partners to bring disciplined, high-touch M&A advisory to founder-led and middle-market companies. His philosophy is simple: Own the process, own the outcome.
A former M&A attorney with Skadden Arps, Scott blends dealmaking perspective with legal precision. He holds FINRA Series 79 and 82 licenses, is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA), and attended the Wharton School and Duke University, as well as Vanderbilt Law School.
He also serves as Chair of the AM&AA Virtual Chapter and sits on the Board of Barton Health in Lake Tahoe.
Outside the office, Scott’s most at home in the mountains or the desert skiing, climbing, or exploring backcountry routes on a dirt bike.
Scott holds a FINRA Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative) and a Series 82 (Private Securities Offering Representative) as a registered representative of Finalis Securities LLC Member FINRA / SIPC.
Director of operations + analyst
Vanessa Sirgobind
Vanessa manages firm operations and supports transaction execution across active and prospective engagements. She combines startup leadership experience with analytical discipline, helping keep every process organized, responsive, and efficient.
Before joining Sierra Pacific Partners, Vanessa led research and project initiatives in the consumer goods sector. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology from the Durban University of Technology and a University Certificate in Psychology from the University of Derby in the U.K. She is currently pursuing a law degree.
Driven by a passion for people and relationships, Vanessa plays a key role in client communication and internal coordination. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, running, diving, and game nights with friends.

Chino Sahoo
Chino advises Sierra Pacific Partners on technology, data systems, and applied AI. A CTO-level executive, he currently serves as Director of Data, API & GenAI Strategy for Enterprise & Product Architecture at IQVIA.
Prior to IQVIA, Chino spent over 15 years with IBM, where he held roles as senior IT architect, software developer, and integration test specialist. He brings deep expertise in enterprise architecture, hybrid cloud systems, agile development, and analytics-driven execution—insight he applies to the technical and diligence aspects of Sierra Pacific’s technology engagements.
Chino holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Economics from Duke University.

Luke Brandon
Luke is a Seasonal Analyst supporting research, analysis, and content that inform Sierra Pacific’s advisory work and market insights. A junior at Duke University majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Financial Economics, Luke brings a strong blend of technical depth and analytical curiosity. His prior work includes biomaterials research and protein-focused studies.
Outside the lab, Luke enjoys stand-up comedy and plays ice hockey for Duke's club team, a mix of precision and energy that fits perfectly with our team.
Seasonal Analyst
Cecilia Li
Cecilia is a Seasonal Analyst supporting research, analysis, and content that inform Sierra Pacific’s advisory work and market insights. A student at UC Berkeley, where she majors in Economics, she brings experience in environmental research, data analytics, and early-stage innovation.
Before joining Sierra Pacific Partners, Cecilia founded a nonprofit focused on environmental education for underprivileged students and led research initiatives on biodiversity, deforestation, and AI-driven data collection.
Outside of work, Cecilia enjoys journaling, dancing, and traveling.

Shaun Nyangoni
Shaun supports client communication and marketing at Sierra Pacific Partners, ensuring every founder interaction is responsive, informed, and high-touch. He brings experience in sales and customer service across retail and insurance, combining relationship skills with operational discipline.
He’s passionate about delivering exceptional service and helping clients feel confident and well-supported throughout the process. Outside of work, Shaun enjoys music, fitness, and exploring new marketing ideas and trends.
